This tile mural, situated at the entrance to the Garden Friends
playground, ties into the playground’s theme of beneficial insects
in the garden. The “pollen path” is the route taken by honey
bees when they fly out from their hive to forage for nectar and
pollen. In their search for food, the bees pollinate the blooms
that they visit. Orchards, farm crops, our home gardens, and most
flowering plants depend upon honey bees and many other insects
for pollination.
