This event is not included in general admission. However, all registrants will receive a race t-shirt and a ticket to visit the North Carolina Zoo, which can be used anytime within 30 days of the event, including race day. The event will occur rain or shine, and the registration fee is non-refundable.

It's time to Release Your Inner Wolf! Join your North Carolina Zoo and NC Zoo Society in saving the American red wolf by partnering or participating in the 2025 Run Wild 5K.
This annual event invites participants to embrace the scenic beauty of the Zoo while making a personal impact on wildlife conservation. Registration fees will directly support the Zoo's efforts to protect and preserve the American red wolf, the world's most endangered canid, with fewer than 20 individuals remaining in the wild.
Together, we can make strides-- literally and figuratively-- for the American red wolf and our planet's biodiversity!

The main event will begin at the Solar Pointe picnic area in the North America parking lot. The course features rolling hills typical to the foothills of North Carolina and will take participants on paved pathways around the Zoo.
Awards will be given to the top three overall finishers and the top three male and female finishers within the following age categories: 12 and under, 13-18, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
